It carries all 20 Chapters and all 358 sections of the Sanhita, numbered 1 to 358 without a break, together with the 97 blocks of statutory Illustrations and the 111 Explanations the Sanhita itself carries. The edition is published for the AIBE-XXII (22) cycle, whose paper is set for 29th November 2026. The statutory text of the Sanhita is freely available. What this edition supplies is a volume built for speed of reference under examination conditions. The Act is printed without case law and without commentary. Beneath the provisions the volume prints three lines of editorial reference: a corresponding-provision citation naming the section of the Indian Penal Code 1860 that the provision replaces, a classification of the offence as cognizable or non-cognizable and bailable or non-bailable with the court that tries it, and, where the offence can be compounded, who may compound it. There are 1,010 such lines in the volume — 513 corresponding-provision citations, 442 classification lines and 55 compounding lines. The AIBE paper sets 100 questions in 3 hours 30 minutes, a little over two minutes a question, and I.P.C. and Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita together carry 8 of the 100 marks. Three things cost time in an open-book hall. Finding the section is answered by the 18-page section-wise contents, by the 54 group headings the Sanhita carries over from the old Code, and by a section number in the running head on every page after the first. Establishing what is in force is answered by the commencement notification printed at section 1, which records both the date the Sanhita took effect and the one sub-section that did not. And on this subject the syllabus head is examined on both the old Code and the new, so a question framed on an IPC section has to be traced to its Sanhita counterpart; the corresponding-provision citations answer that on the page, without a separate concordance. The volume prints no “law stated as on” line and carries no amendment footnotes, because the Sanhita is set out as enacted. Its coming into force is traced in the single footnote the volume does carry, which reproduces Notification No. S.O. 850(E) dated 23-2-2024 appointing 1st July 2024 as the date the Sanhita took effect, other than sub-section (2) of section 106. This book is intended for the following audience: AIBE-XXII (22) Candidates—who sit the paper on 29th November 2026 and need the Sanhita text in a form they can work from at speed, on a head examined on both the old Code and the new Final-year Law Students—studying criminal law on the Sanhita while the teaching material and the case law are still framed on the Indian Penal Code Advocates—who need the replaced provision, the classification of the offence and its compoundability at the point of reference rather than looked up separately Coaching Institutes and Law Libraries—stocking a current, single-volume text of the Sanhita for the AIBE cycle Criminal-side Juniors and Practitioners—carrying the Sanhita to court and working daily against FIRs, charge-sheets and orders still drawn on the 1860 Code The Present Publication is the 2026 Edition, carrying the text of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023 as enacted and in force, published in Taxmann's Bare Act without Comments series for the AIBE-XXII (22) cycle, with the following noteworthy features: [Complete Sanhita] All 20 Chapters and all 358 sections, numbered 1 to 358 without a break, with no section carried as omitted and no lettered insertions [No Commentary] No case law and no commentary anywhere in the volume; the editorial matter is confined to the three reference lines described below, and the Illustrations, Explanations and Exceptions are part of the enacted text [Corresponding IPC Provision] 513 citations printed beneath the provisions, covering 533 distinct provisions of the Indian Penal Code 1860, of which 11 name more than one IPC section where the Sanhita consolidated them [Offence Classified] 442 classification lines recording whether the offence is cognizable and bailable and which court tries it, and 55 further lines naming who may compound it, 13 of them only with the permission of the Court [As Enacted and In Force] The text as enacted, with no amendment reflected, and the commencement traced to Notification No. S.O. 850(E) dated 23-2-2024, which also records that sub-section (2) of section 106 did not come into force with the rest [Illustrations and Explanations in Full] 97 blocks of statutory Illustrations and 111 Explanations, printed with the provisions they belong to [Section-wise Contents] An 18-page contents listing every section by number and marginal heading, under its Chapter and under the 54 group headings the Sanhita carries over from the old Code [Running Heads] A section number in the running head on every page but the opening one, the verso pairing it with the Sanhita's title and the recto with the Chapter number and name, so all 20 Chapters appear in the heads The structure of the book is as follows: The volume opens with the statutory title, the Act number 45 of 2023, the long title and the enacting formula Chapters run I to XX, each under its own heading, with group headings such as Of theft and Of abetment dividing the longer Chapters Sections run under their marginal headings, with the statutory Illustrations, Explanations and Exceptions set with the provisions they belong to Beneath the provisions sit the three reference lines: Corresponding Provision, Classification of Offence, and Compoundable where the offence can be compounded The commencement notification is carried as a footnote at section 1, the only footnote in the volume The Sanhita carries no Schedule, and none is printed Running heads carry the section number on every printed page after the first, the verso with the Sanhita's title and the recto with the Chapter number and name Read more\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"GENRES BSTIN Higher Education Textbooks","offers":[{"title":"Paperback","offer_id":62416200302962,"sku":"9371268913 - PB","price":5.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true},{"title":"Hardcover","offer_id":62416200335730,"sku":"9371268913 - HB","price":9.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0914\/6889\/0482\/files\/61H4AQwxHzL.jpg?v=1790613950","url":"https:\/\/universalreads.com\/products\/taxmanns-bharatiya-nyaya-sanhita-2023-bare-act-without-comments-aibe-complete-statutory-text-for-aibe-xxii-513-corresponding-ipc-citations-supports-rapid-look-ups","provider":"Universal reads","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
