Product Description
Bhagat Singh’s 404-page jail diary is filled with excerpts, notes and quotes on a wide variety of subjects that reflect not only his serious study and intellectual insight, but also his social and political concerns. Why I Am An Atheist is an essay written by Indian revolutionary Bhagat Singh in 1930 in Lahore Central Jail. After the death of Bhagat Singh, the essay was published on 27 September 1931 in Lala Lajpat Rai's English weekly The People. The essay was a reply to his religious friends who thought Bhagat Singh became an atheist because of his vanity.
