Product Description
This book set gives us a detail idea about the formation of decline of Sikh Kingdom. The Sikh Empire was a regional power based in the Punjab region of the Indian subcontinent. It existed from 1799, when Maharaja Ranjit Singh captured Lahore, to 1849, when it was defeated and conquered by the British East India Company following the Second Anglo-Sikh War. The death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh led to internal corruption and turmoil. The quality of the army declined due to mismanagement. The two Anglo-Sikh Wars saw the defeat of the Sikh Empire on both the occasions. Ultimately it was dissolved in 1849
