As we know a new " Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020" has been published by Authority of Ministry of Law & Justice, New Delhi on 29.09.2020. It has been named code' because it is consolidation of already existing 13 old Central Labour Laws one of which is ours 'The Mines Act-1952' The bill was passed by Lok Sabha on 22.09.2020 and by Rajya Sabha on 23.09.2020, the bill received Presidential assent on 28.09.2020 but the date of coming into force is yet to be notified in official gazette. With the 'Code' coming into the force the Mines Act 1952 will be repealed. In future this' Code' will govern the mines and mining industries, the entire 'Code will will not be applicable to mines and mining activities. For the purpose, this book picked the selected sections which are replaced the existing provisions of the Mines Act and which are applicable and related to mines and mining activities. Respective sections of the Mines Act given with new sections of OSH&WC Code 2020 for your convenience.
